Mediterranean Metaphors II Contemporary Art From Lebanon

This exhibition investigates the self conscious presence of beauty in the work of four mid-career Italian contemporary artists. Beauty is a paradox in Italian culture, because while the expression beauty is unambiguously maybe superficially - deployed for the masterworks by Titan, Raphael and the likes, it carries a hint of disparagement when applied to a work of contemporary art.
