Video Installation

an old car, painted white inside after everything is removed except the back of the back seat onto which is sewed a white velvet cloth to cover the whole back. A wooden bech painted white is installaed to the place where formerly the sitting part of the back seat was placed. This car installation was one of the pieces that Toxic Dreams organized as a car exhibition which is called The Mystery of the Enchanted Cars presented in the Donau Festival of Music, Performance, Art and Film in Krems Austria. Toxic Dreams have invited visual artists, performers, musicians, one for each car.

I have been invited to the white car Ford Sierra to present my video. In fact my video was a stop motion animation, shot in a left car found in a deserted parking lot. For the first part I used old car ornamentations and animated them on the windshield using the frame as a stage, for the second part, I used car stickers from 80's. The stickers appear one by one on the windshield window and an American voice (David) tries to translate the written words on the stickers such as Alınteri: Sweat of my brow, Anam sagolsun: Long live my mother. The video finishes when it is all covered with the sticker items.
