Conductor Andreas Schüller was educated in his native Berlin where he was associated with various opera groups specializing in the contemporary repertoire. While still a student, he worked as an assistant to Lothar Zagrosek in the German Youth Orchestra, as well as with Rudolf Barshai.
In 2003, Schüller joined the Vienna Volksoper, where he led performances of works ranging from Mozart to Tchaikovsky. The following year he was engaged by the Wiesbaden Staatstheater, but returned again to the Volksoper at the start of the 2006-2007 season.
In concert Schüller has conducted the Kassel Staatsorchester, the Niederösterreichisches Tonkünstlerorchester and the Berlin Sinfonieorchester. Additionally, he has conducted at the Komische Oper in Berlin, as well as orchestras in France, Italy, Canada, South Africa and Switzerland.
Andreas Schüller has been associated with the Salzburg Festival since 2002.
