Cédric Tiberghien is one of the most exciting artists to emerge from France in recent years. Highlights among future concerto engagements include the BBC Proms as well as the Hallé Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony, Dresdner Philharmonie, Hamburger Philharmoniker, Iceland Symphony, Sydney Symphony, Queensland Symphony, Adelaide Symphony, West Australian Symphony, Auckland Philharmonia, Malaysian Philharmonic, Liege Philharmonic, and Orchestre National d'Ile de France.

As a recitalist, he will appear in Austria (Salzburg Mozarteum), Germany (Cologne WDR), Belgium (Brussels KLARA Festival), Romania (Enesco Festival), Spain (Castellon, Madrid Auditorio Nacional), Paris (Chatelet, Theatre des Champs-Elysees), London (Wigmore Hall, International Piano Series) Canada (Vancouver Recital Society), and will tour in the US following his successful debut at the Frick Collection, New York, in November 2007. Future festival appearances include the Beethovenfest Bonn, Lockenhaus, City of London, Flanders, Wallonie, Musica Viva (Australia), Dinard and Valloires Festivals.

Cédric's solo discography, on Harmonia Mundi, features four recital discs: Debussy, Beethoven (Variations), Bach (Partitas), and a disc with Chopin and Brahms's Ballades. His first concerto disc - Brahms's Concerto No.1 with the BBC Symphony and Jiri Belohlavek - was released in Autumn 2007. His next release is a recital disc featuring Brahms's 10 Hungarian Dances, Klaviertsucke Op.76 and Waltzes Op.39, due to be released in early 2009.

Cédric Tiberghien studied at the Paris Conservatoire with Frédéric Aguessy and Gérard Frémy and was awarded the Premier Prix in 1992, aged just 17. He was then a prizewinner at several major international piano competitions (Bremen, Dublin, Tel Aviv, Geneva, Milan), culminating with the 1st Prize at the prestigious Long-Thibaud Competition in Paris in 1998, alongside with five special awards, including the Audience Award and the Orchestra Award. This propelled on his international career, leading to over 150 engagements worldwide, including 7 visits to Japan and showcase appearances throughout Europe.

Since then his career has continuously gained momentum, with appearances in some of the world's most prestigious halls, including London's Wigmore Hall, Vienna's Musikverein, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, Tokyo's Suntory Hall, Sydney's City Hall, as well as the Salle Pleyel, Théâtre du Chatelet, Theatre des Champs Elysées in Paris. He has also taken part in many international festivals: Edinburgh, City of London, BBC Proms, Klavier Festival Ruhr, Yokohama Festival, La Roque d'Anthéron, Toulouse Piano aux Jacobins among others.

With over 50 concertos in his repertoire, Cédric Tiberghien has appeared with an impressive line-up of international orchestras, including the BBC Symphony, Sydney Symphony, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Tokyo Philarmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Gelders Orkest, Stuttgart Staatsorchester, Hamburger Philharmoniker, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and in France the Philharmonique de Radio-France, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France. His conductor collaborations include Simone Young, Jiri Belohlavek, Myung-Whun Chung, Christoph Eschenbach, Kurt Masur, Ivan Fischer, Leif Segerstam, Louis Langrée, Yutaka Sado, and Jerzy Semkow among many others.

Cédric Tiberghien is also a dedicated chamber musicians and his regular partners include Alina Ibragimova (with whom he will present the complete Beethoven violin sonatas at the Wigmore Hall in 2009/10), as well as Marie Hallynck, Valérie Aimard, Pierre Amoyal, the Psophos Quartet, the Ysaye Quartet, the Moraguès Quintet, Alain Planès, Nicholas Angelich, Marie Devellereau and Gweneth-Ann Jeffers. His enthusiasm for the genre is reflected in recordings with cellists Marie Hallynck (Schumann and Grieg sonatas on Harmonia Mundi), Valérie Aimard (French repertoire on Lyrinx), and violinists Amanda Favier (Janacek and Strauss on Lyrinx) and Vadim Tchijik (Fauré and Ravel). Hyperion will release shortly his recording with Alina Ibragimova of the complete works by Szymanowski for violin and piano.
