Emre Elivar started his piano education at the age of six with Kâmuran Gündemir and completed his formal education at the Ankara State Conservatoire with the highest honours. During this period, he gave concerts and recitals in many towns of Turkey and appeared at TV and radio programmes.
He continued his studies at the Carl Maria von Weber Music Academy in Dresden under Peter Rösel and completed his master degree. He won prizes at British Council's piano competition, as well as the 7th Perfecto Garcia Chorent (1998), Steinway Prize (2001), Arthur Schnabel Prize (2002) and Vendome Prize Germany (2003). He was given the "Best Bach Interpreter" and "Best Romantic Interpretation" awards in Bremen. His recitals, concerts and radio programmes in Europe and Turkey are welcomed with critical acclaim and he is justly regarded as a promising star pianist of the future.
He performed with such orchestras as like Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Berliner-Sinfonie-Orchester (Konzerthausorchester Berlin), Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Orquestra Nacional do Porto, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and others. He performed at the International Music Festivals of Ankara and Istanbul, at the Festival of Asian Orchestras in Japan as a soloist. He also performed recitals in Philharmonie and Konzerthaus in Berlin, in Beethoven-Hall Hannover, and in Bösendorfer Hall Vienna.
Currently conducting his virtuosity PhD at the Hans Eisler Music Academy in Berlin under Georg Sava, Emre Elivar has a CD recording of Necil Kâzım Akses' piano works. He also recorded Beethoven's last three sonatas and "Diabelli Variations", and Schubert's "3 Piano Pieces", Schumann's "Symphonic Etudes" and Brahms' "3 Intermezzi".
