A soloist, an artistic director and instructor... Cellist Zuill Bailey has it all and he is coming to Istanbul to perform a work which has almost become his signature: Michael Daugherty’s Tales of Hemingway. Daugherty is ever strengthening his position in the contemporary repertoire and this piece certainly becomes Bailey who is ever keen on exploring the fruits of modernism in the previous and current centuries. The other young star of the concert is soprano Kate Royal who will be singing in the last movement of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No.4. Royal performs a wide repertoire ranging from Mozart to Britten at prestigious venues from Paris and London to New York.
