Piano duo Ufuk and Bahar Dördüncü leave their audience in awe with their dynamism and harmony in the classical genre as well as its contemporary branch. The beloved duo meets master trumpeter Eric Truffaz for the Istanbul premiere of his latest work “Taksim” which he composed for the Dördüncü sisters.

The Dördüncü sisters have long made a name for themselves in the world of classical music with their “flawless technique, delivering vigorous and evocative performances” as the great French pianist F.R. Duchable said. Their venture into contemporary music produced equally successful. Still there are still other horizons they want to travel to and here is one. The Dördüncüs meet Erik Truffaz. The French trumpeter infuses hip hop, rock and roll and dance music into his compositions and is a prominent figure in today’s jazz world. He meets the Dördüncüs with a piece titled “Taksim”, which he composed for the piano duo, bearing signs of minimalism, romanticism, modernism and definitely jazz. They premiered it in Izmir in 2015 and now they are coming to Istanbul to perform it again at the exact place bearing its title. The Dördüncü sisters will also perform John Adams’s “Hallelujah Junctions” at the concert.
