Valentina Lisitsa, one of the most acclaimed and beloved pianists of the present day, takes the BIPO audience to the early years of the romantic period, which is her area of expertise. The programme will continue with Beethoven’s spirit moving from the piano on to the violin with two of the composer’s Romances performed by Naz İrem Türkmen. Under the conduction of Gürer Aykal, BIPO’s closing performance of the night will be of Symphony No. 2, a turn of the century work written by Beethoven during the Heiligenstadt years.
