Dear Esteemed Audience,

Olgu Kızılay, who had been performing as the second violin at the Borusan Quartet with seasonal concerts at the Süreyya Opera and tours since its founding in 2005, has left our ensemble. We wish him all the best for his future music career.

Özgür Baskın, who holds a position of the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, Orkestra Akademik Başkent, Begoa Ensemble, and Trio Ba has been assigned to the second violin of the Borusan Quartet.

Özgür Baskın began his violin education in 1993 at the Çukurova University State Conservatory, making his debut as a soloist with the Çukurova State Symphony Orchestra the same year.
He continued his training from 1996 to 2001 with Viktor Pikayzen at the Hacettepe University State Conservatory. Baskın won the first prize both at the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism National Violin Competition in 1998 and at the Sedat-Güzin Gürel Arts & Science Foundation International Violin Competition in 2000.
He was admitted to the Rostock Music Academy (Germany) under Prof. Petru Munteanu in 2001. From 2004 to 2006 he completed his proficiency in art degree in violin studies with Prof. Iwona Wojciechowska at the Lodz Music Academy (Poland).
