NICOLAS ALSTAEDT
NICOLAS ALSTAEDT

Young and talented, cellist Nicolas Altstaedt’s superb interpretation can be heard all around the world with orchestras like Zurich Tonhalle, Czech Philharmonic, Kremerata Baltica and Vienna Symphony under distinguished conductors like David Zinman, Neeme Järvi, Sir Neville Marriner and Vladimir Ashkenazy. He keeps presenting wonderfully created programs, which combine his great respect for the classical repertoire with his close interest in contemporary music. This young and bright star of the West Side Story will perform Ernest Bloch’s Hebraic rhapsody Schelomo, which became known worldwide after Mstislav Rostropovich’s performance of the work with Orchestre National de France under none other than Leonard Bernstein.
