In this concert where he will be directing BIPO, conductor Diego Matheuz, who has gained further acclaim with an intense touring schedule with concerts in Europe, Asia, Australia and America, will accompany Spanish violin virtuoso María Dueñas, winner of the 2021 Menuhin Competition. During this season, in addition to BIPO, Dueñas will give concerts in famous halls such as Vienna Konzerthaus and Carnegie Hall, with ensembles such as Staatskapelle Berlin, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and Danish National Symphony Orchestra. For this concert, she will be performing Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1, a piece that is considered a masterpiece of mid-20th century classical music. The other piece that BIPO will perform for this magnificent programme is another masterpiece; Beethoven’s 7th Symphony.
