Bloom in Dot was born in the winter of 2021 through the creative efforts of Leonidas Danezos and Effie Psiachoulia. The planet’s abrupt halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic inspired Danezos and Psiachoulia to create new musical pieces that explore and connect the diverse traditional sounds of West Africa, Epirus, and the Aegean, all filtered by urban analogue electronics.

Bloom in Dot consists of National Orchestra of Greece member and kora player Effie Psiachoulia; Leonidas Danezos, who has created a limitless musical world with his deep interest in traditional instruments and melodies, and Ceren Oykut, who has held numerous exhibitions and performances all over Europe.

In this performance, in which Oykut’s digital black and white drawings will be simultaneously projected on the stage, the African kora, Persian santur, Greek baglama, sound, analogue electronics and live drawing will meet to create a unique ecstatic rhythmic and therapeutic soundscape where boundaries, space and time cease to exist.
