On March 6, Nova Muzak, realised in cooperation with Kod Music, will witness a cult night at the Borusan Music House with two different artists from the ambient / drone music world: Abul Mogard and MMMD (Mohammad).

Abul Mogard’s life story is quite interesting. Born in Belgrade, the artist spent most of his life as a factory worker and started making music after retiring. For Abul Mogard, making music was a way to reconstruct physical and emotional spaces that had taken place in his life, but were now lost. Thus, his music became a deeply romantic medium that absorbed the listener in its engulfing melancholy... The sonic and visual art festival Berlin Atonal describes Abul Mogard as having a story at least as mysterious as his music. He has left an indelible effect on his audience, from Thom Yorke to Rob Booth, who have witnessed his rich and lively works, triggering a certain happiness that rarely goes together with the sadness in the current electronic music world… Described as being close to the musical worlds of Tim Hecker, Fennesz, The Caretaker and Alessandro Cortini, Mogard will be accompanied by Marja de Sanctis’ visuals tonight.

This night’s other guest is the Athenian duo Mohammad (MMMD). Mohammad, founded by Ilos and Nikos Veliotis, have been creating a big, monolithic sound pattern by keeping deep bass frequencies, intermediate modulation sounds and even folk elements together since 2009 through tools and computer programmes of their own making. Those who love groups like Sunn O))) and Earth shouldn’t miss MMMD's performance… As stated in Tiny Mix Tapes, MMMD promises a performance that you’ll hope will never end…
