Amsterdam-based clarinettist Oğuz Büyükberber’s style combines contemporary composition, jazz and influences from the Turkish past. His work includes more than 50 CDs from reputable recording companies including ECM and Blue Note, a detailed book explaining his improvisational systems, and electro-acoustic and audio-visual pieces in addition to many commissioned pieces he has produced. Büyükberber is Borusan Music House’s guest with his impressive trio.

The Oğuz Büyükberber Trio, which came together for the first time for the Soundance Festival in Berlin, has recorded its fifth project to date. Oğuz Büyükberber, Meinrad Kneer and Yorgos Dimitriadis, these three unique musicians investigate the unpredictable combinations of their personal influences and the unspoken agreements that are formed whenever these references overlap. Xenakis, Buddy de Franco, Ali Ekber Khan, Monk, Morton Subotnick... They play with the tension of going with and against this shared vocabulary, creating evolving juxtapositions. Completely improvised without prior plans, their record released by Trytone Records The Power of Movement in Plants breaks the idiomatic conventions of the chamber music setup.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THE AUDIENCE: All our concerts will be held under Covid-19 measures. Controls for entry will be provided through the Hayat Eve Sığar (HES) application.
