As the cornerstones of theatre history, Shakespeare’s works have been interpreted countless times. In Shakespeare and Music, the playwright’s plays and sonnets are prepared with an intertextual collage method and the songs and music of Elizabethan Shakespeare plays are rendered with period instruments. Since 2016 Shakespeare and Music has met with audiences at 21 performances at home and abroad. At this event to take place at Borusan Music House, three members of the İzmir Baroque Ensemble, viola da gamba artist Bülent Oral, soprano Linet Şaul, and lute virtuoso Diego Leveric will be rendering period music composed for the playwright’s works. Theatre actress Ayşe Lebriz Berkem will be performing Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets. IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THE AUDIENCE: All our concerts will be held under Covid-19 measures. In accordance with the circular of the Ministry of Interior, spectators will be able to enter the events by showing their vaccination cards or PCR tests with a negative result up to 48 hours ago.
